The Medically Oriented Gym (M.O.G.) in South Portland is proud of the men and women who serve our country. The M.O.G. would like to recognize the sacrifices that our veterans make in service to our nation. As a member of the Portland Veterans Network, a program of the Portland Regional Chamber, the M.O.G. will waive the enrollment fee (a value of $49.99) and provide a 15% discount off of the total membership fees for ANY VETERAN who enrolls during the week of Veteran’s Day.
To enroll, veterans must sign up at the M.O.G. at 29 Foden Road in South Portland between November 12-17. Veterans will verify their service by presenting their DD214 or an active military ID.
With medically trained staff always accessible, the M.O.G. is well equipped to serve the unique needs of veterans and help them achieve the exceptional quality of life and health they deserve. The M.O.G. believes that fitness is the best kind of medicine and develops a personalized exercise plan for members after conducting a comprehensive health screening and a review of health history and goals. Some veterans can then exercise independently (with quarterly program re-evaluations) while others may need closer supervision, guidance and training to improve their health and stay safe. The M.O.G. supports many members with special health needs, including those with:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Diabetes
- Parkinson’s disease
- Post-physical therapy strengthening
- Cancer
- C.O.P.D.
- M.S.
- Peripheral vascular disease
- Orthopedic and musculoskeletal issues
- Fall risk/balance concerns
